How Should Drapery Fabric Be Displayed?
Fabric that is designed for hanging is best shown…hanging!
Hanger samples, also called header samples or simply hangers, feature a large swatch of fabric, commonly 8-12” wide x 16-18” long, sometimes folded double to allow for an especially large pattern to be displayed. The swatch hangs from a printed card stock or book-board header, with a hook or cord handle.
At Lennertson Sample Company, we can make your headers entirely in-house. We will cut, sew and label your fabrics; print and laminate the headers, and drill and assemble your hanging samples.
Drapery fabrics also show very well on sample cards, especially when mounted waterfall style in 2-panel or larger folders. With large swatches overlapping closely like shingles, we are able to fit 10, 12, 14 or
more fabric swatches on a page. For solid color fabrics, smaller swatches in two columns will double the number of sku’s per page. For an elegant touch, double-folded swatches in the waterfall style are always attractive, and also allow more fabric for touching.
A third great choice for drapery fabric samples is the memo sample. A simple cut square or rectangular swatch, with a pinked, straight or overlocked edge, a memo sample is essential for many home furnishings sales. A memo can be any size at all, but some common sizes are 6” x 6”, 8” x 8”, 8” x 10”, 10” x 12” and 12” x 12”. Most have either a label on the back, or a tag that folds over one corner of the memo, with your logo on the front and fabric information on the back. This leaves most of the fabric free to drape and to be felt as the buyer inspects it.
While these are top choices for drapery fabric samples, there are others. Let Lennertson Sample Company work with you to create the samples that best showcase your drapery textiles.
